But times have changed and it seems like the singer hasn’t been able to resist the temptation of earning the big bucks that a reality show offers to its celebrity faces. Niigaam has now agreed to adjudicate STAR Plus’ upcoming season of its flagship show Amul Star Voice Of India Chhote Ustaad, along with acclaimed Sufi singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
Informs a source, “The upcoming season as suggested by the title will be focusing on talented kids. There will be 20 kids, 10 from India and Pakistan each, participating in the show. A kid each from the two countries will be paired and thus at the end a pair will win the coveted title. The show will be judged by singers Sonu Niigam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The host of the show is yet to be decided. The shooting for the same has already commenced and the show is slated to launch sometime next month. It is expected to air once Zara Nachke Dikhafinishes its season.”
A source close to Sonu confirmed his participation. All attempts to reach producer Gajendra Singh remained futile.
Before this, Rahat has done shows like Junoon on Imagine where he was seen as a judge and as a participant in Yeh Shaam Mastani on Sony. Abhaas had earlier hosted the inaugural season of Chhote Ustaad.
