This week India’s sur ki mallika Asha Bhonsle will be seen on Chhote Ustaad as the children celebrate her golden era in Bollywood. Asha Tai, as she is fondly known as, has had a dream run in the film industry from 1943 to till date with many hit songs in her knittyThe children were extremely thrilled to meet Ashaji and many of them got emotional while performing in front of a legend like her. It was also an overwhelming occasion for the parents, who never in their wildest dreams imagined that they would ever meet Ashaji in person.
Of all the people on the sets, the person who was the most thrilled to meet Ashaji was the judge of the show - Sonu Niigaam. When Ashaji sang a few lines of one of her songs, Sonu said that even though Ashaji is almost 77 years old, her singing is effortless and flawless till date and he can only hope to sing like her when he is old. Hearing Sonu’s comment Ashaji instantly replied that she is not old and can romance him any day!
However, host Omi Vaidya was not left behind in showering his praise for Ashaji. Omi sang a song from the British band - Corner Shop, who composed the song ‘Brimful of Asha’, as a tribute to Ashaji. Omi chose this track and left everyone speechless with a near perfect rendition of the same. So impressed was Ashaji and our judges that they gave Omi a standing ovation. Something one must look forward to, this weekend.
The kids of Chhote Ustaad couldn’t get any luckier as they spoke to the living legends of Indian Music and all the while their proud parents looked on with tears of joy in their eyes.
